God- My Mediator
1 Timothy 2:5-6 (NLT)
5 There is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus.
6 He gave his life to purchase freedom for everyone. This is the message God gave to the world at just the right time.
Jesus is our Mediator. He intervened for us at the Cross and now intervenes with the message of reconciliation for us. The message that Jesus has for us is that God loves us and wants the best for us. God doesn’t want to condemn and He isn’t mad at us. Jesus wants us to know that we can have a personal relationship with God. Isn’t that amazing??
Jesus also brings the truth that we are no longer under the law—that we could never be good enough to be in the family of the Almighty God, but it’s by His grace and mercy that He loves us. God hates sin but He surely loves the sinner and is always drawing us to Him. He wants a personal, working relationship with us. Again, isn’t that amazing?? You mean He really cares about my needs, my fears, my inabilities and inadequacies?? Yes, He surely does!!
