Day 117    Just Ask God
James 1:5 (New International Version)
If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

It is so easy to ask a friend, a spouse or someone close to us their advice on something that we need to know.
I think in times past, I did not ask God questions because I didn’t expect Him to answer me.  I had a kind of “why bother” attitude.  After having these daily “meetings with God,” I realize that I can ask Him anything and He will answer.  Remember, He always has a “good plan” for us.  (Jeremiah 29:11)  I don’t know about you but I want to know what the “good plan” is!!  He knows the answer to every question and I believe He wants us to know too.  (I Corinthians 2: 9-10,12)
I think God smiles when we talk to Him.  I know that I am always pleased when the people I love call me on the phone or stop in to say “hi.”   Why would God be any different?  He loves His family!
All through the Old Testament God spoke to His people.  We are “New Testament” people because of the cross of Christ and the Bible says  we  have a better covenant than theirs, based on better promises.  (Hebrews 8:6)  Now that’s something to talk to God about!!  If God provided it, I want it active and alive in my life, so that my life brings glory to Him.  How about you??
God wants us to ask!  Moses asked a question and God answered him.  I believe it’s a promise that we can embrace for our own.  Here’s his question regarding provision for the people he was in charge of:  Would they have enough if flocks and herds were slaughtered for them? Would they have enough if all the fish in the sea were caught for them?”   (Numbers 11:22)
Here’s the answer: “Is the LORD’s arm too short? Now you will see whether or not what I say will come true for you.”
God not only told Moses that they would have a supply of meat but He said that they would “see” it.
It’s time to ask God some questions because He wants to give you the answers!!

Thank Him for meeting with you.
