Day 122     The Ultimate Fresh Start
Psalm 103:2-5 (New International Version)
2 Praise the LORD, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits—
3 who forgives all your sins
   and heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
5 who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
The ultimate fresh start happened 2,000 years ago when God sent His Son to the cross.  And what did He accomplish there?  There are five things in just this one scripture—the first being that all of our sins are forgiven.
Isn’t that good news??  But you might say, “I still sin.”  Yes, that is true, but you have an Advocate now, (Jesus) and you can ask forgiveness and move on with a clear conscience.
Because of the finished work of the cross, nothing more needs to be done.  God does not want us burdened under a load of guilt.  Like a good father, we can come to Him and say we are sorry when we sin and He will scoop us up in His arms and say, “You’ve already been forgiven, child.”
No more struggling with sin.  If you have a reoccurring sin like Paul is explaining in Romans 7:15-25, I encourage you to keep reading the next few verses.
Romans 8:1 (The Message)
1-2With the arrival of Jesus, the Messiah, that fateful dilemma is resolved. Those who enter into Christ's being-here-for-us no longer have to live under a continuous, low-lying black cloud. A new power is in operation. The Spirit of life in Christ, like a strong wind, has magnificently cleared the air, freeing you from a fated lifetime of brutal tyranny at the hands of sin and death.

That’s the absolute truth!!  You no longer need to walk around burdened down by guilt.  Jesus took care of that at the cross.  Jesus gave you a fresh start—He cleaned the slate for you.
