Day 19    I Don’t Have To Do It All Myself
Zechariah 4:6 (New International Version © 2010)
6 So he said to me, “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD Almighty.
Have your realized how heavy life can get when we are trying to figure everything out?   And in addition to coming up with our own solutions and our own plans, we then try to do it all ourselves.  And then after we do that and have no peace, life gets even heavier yet!!  There you got it!!
We know God wants to meet with us at our “designated time” but just what if He is available all the time.  Wow!  You mean I can ask His advice at any time.
Actually His Word says that He will never leave us.  I suppose that never actually means never!!  So if I am busy in my day and come up against some obstacle or something where a decision is required, I could just say, “What do I do here?”  and actually expect an answer??
Maybe we should try it and then train ourselves to wait on the answer.  I know from my experience that if I purpose to wait, I don’t have to wait very long.  I just have to give Him space to answer.

Proverbs 16:3 (Amplified Bible)

3Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him; He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and] so shall your plans be established and succeed.
This promise says that if we put God and His plan first place in our lives, He will cause our thoughts to become agreeable to His will for the situation and then we succeed!!
How easy is that!!  Well…..not so easy if we are used to doing everything ourselves.  Then when it doesn’t turn out we get frustrated at ourselves….at everyone around us….and maybe even at God…..and the “crazy cycle” begins.  You know--that one that spins as we are blaming ourselves and everyone around us!
God’s plan for us is one of peace and as we meet with Him, we remain in peace.  When life gets complicated---peace!  When doubt and confusion comes---peace!  When we feel like we are in this alone---peace!
Today’s Assignment:
1.       Yesterday you wrote down those things that concern you.  Today roll them over onto God and commit them to Him.  I used to say out loud, “This is Your deal, God.”  It was always a tremendous help to hear those words.

2.      Practice saying that all day today, and feel your concern lifting off your shoulders.  When you feel yourself want to jump back in the middle of it and figure it all out again, stop and think about what happened last time.  Do you hear the word “frustration” being whispered in your ears??

I just say out loud:  “Been there!  Done that!  Not doing it again!!”
Prayer:
Thank You Father, that You are always there for me—all day long…all night long!  I can turn to You at any time and in any place and I can count on You for wisdom for any situation.  Forgive me for trying to figure it all out myself.  We both know that never works very well.  Help me to train myself to call upon you and then to wait for you—not only in the big things but even in the little daily things.  Father, thank You that You help me succeed in everything as I turn it over to You.  Amen.
