Day 37   Encourage Ourselves in God-Pt.2
Isaiah 50:4 (New International Version, ©2010)
4 The Sovereign LORD has given me a well-instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary.
He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being instructed.
God Himself—“the Sovereign Lord”—is able to speak to me because sometimes it’s me who is “the weary.”  He’s able to speak to me every morning!!!  That’s why I am encouraging you to set up these daily meetings with God.  It’s a must when you are going through a difficult time and when the difficulties are over, it will prepare you and strengthen you so you can be an encouragement to others.
And let’s face it—as long as we live on this earth, there will always be “difficult times.”  When we are strong in God, however, things that used to bring us concern, worry and pain, no longer do so.
It’s really up to us to encourage ourselves.  God has the answer for absolutely for everything that comes my way!  All I have to do is ask God for His instructions. And here’s another thing that I have learned is that God is not keeping secrets.  He wants us to know!  Whew!  I don’t know about you but that encourages me!!
Okay, it is morning and we have been encouraged by God.  But what about those nights when everything looks so dark?  What about in the middle of the night when we wake up and worry takes over?  How can we be encouraged then?
Here’s one thing I know:  The Word of God brings peace.  Sometimes I get up and read but most of the  time I grab my iPod which I keep on the night stand and fill my mind with the Bible teachings I have downloaded.  It’s amazing how fast the peace comes.  Pretty soon I am sound asleep.
Today’s Assignment:
1.       Read these scriptures and make them personal.  Write down their personal application in your journal:
Jeremiah 29: 11-14
Matthew 7:7 Amplified Bible
Ephesians 6: 10-17
Prayer:
My Father, thank You for Your words that sustain me day and night.  Thank You that Your words calm my heart and give me the confidence to trust You in all situations.  I love you my Father.  Amen.
