Day 52       Hey, I Know You!
Psalm 44:8 (New International Version, ©2010)
In God we make our boast all day long,
and we will praise your name forever.
In order to praise His name, we must know His name.  Actually He has many names.  He is so big and multi-faceted, that we call Him by many names.
For example, you have a name.  It’s on your birth certificate, but you may be called by other names such as “dad” or “mom” or “boss” or “friend.”
Your children say “Thanks Mom” or “Thanks Dad” because they have a personal relationship with you.  You might say to your boss: “Thanks Mr. ___________.  I appreciate your arranging my day off next week.”  You have a working relationship with “Mr. _________ .”
If we have received Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, then we are part of the family of God and we are personally related.  We call Him Father.
God has many names and we are going to learn a few of them so we can thank Him personally.
The first name we are going to learn is ELOHIM.  ELOHIM  means “Creator.”  I like to think of ELOHIM as a foundational name because He was before time and He will be here forever.  That seems pretty foundational to me!!
Genesis 1:1 (New International Version, ©2010)
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Psalm 102:25-30 (New International Version, ©2010)

25 In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth,
and the heavens are the work of your hands.
26 They will perish, but you remain;
they will all wear out like a garment.
Like clothing you will change them
   and they will be discarded.
27 But you remain the same,
and your years will never end.
Elohim created in the beginning and He’s still re-creating today.  He is a Master at taking our messes and making them into something beautiful.  He can take our families……He can take our bodies……He can take our finances…..He can take every area of our lives and make them into what He originally intended for them to be.
Today’s Assignment:
1.       Spend some time thanking God that where there is:
            Lack                           Elohim meets needs
            Sickness                     Elohim heals
            Corruption                 Elohim purifies
            Deception                 Elohim brings truth
            Confusion                  Elohim brings peace
            Fear                            Elohim brings His love
            Hunger                       Elohim fills
            Anger                         Elohim brings rest
            Loss                             Elohim brings fullness

2.      Read these scriptures and thank Him that as a believer, you are part of His family.

I Thessalonians 4:10
Galatians 6:10
You are not alone anymore!!
Prayer:
Father, You are more than wonderful.  As I sit with You today and think on these truths, I am blown away.  You certainly have everything figured out.  I am so grateful for that!  I love You Elohim.  Help me to love You more every day.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
