Day 2 God Wants To Turn Things Around For You
Jeremiah 29:13 (The Message)
13-14"When you come looking for me, you'll find me. "Yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, I'll make sure you won't be disappointed." God's Decree. "I'll turn things around for you.”
Now there’s a promise that you can sink your teeth into!! Whatever needs turning around, He promises to do it!!
This is good news for us when we feel like our lives are spinning out of control and there is nothing we can do to stop it—not only spinning, but spiraling. Know the feeling??
STOP!! Who can stop this thing? God Himself promises to do what no man can do. Not only will He stop the problem, but He promises to turn it around for you!! And besides that, He promises that you won’t be disappointed if you seek Him with all of your heart. Isn’t that good news??
That’s why I have instructed you to set up a consistent time and consistent place to meet with God. In doing so, you are seeking Him. He says, “when you get serious about finding Me….”
If you have set aside your time and place, then you are serious!
If that promise wasn’t good enough, here is another one for you:
Matthew 19:26 (New King James Version)
26 But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
God wants to take your impossible situation and make it possible!! It’s as simple as that!!
Today’s assignment:
1. If you haven’t determined your time and place, do so today. In doing something new like this, you will have to “carve it out.” They (whoever “they” is) say that it takes 21 days to change a habit. There you go….just 21 days!!
Just think of it………meeting with the ALL-mighty God Himself everyday!!
2. When you go into your designated place at your designated time, be sure to take a “To Do” list. Here’s why. As soon as you sit down to read the Word and talk to God, you will think of all these things you should be doing. Have your “to do” list handy and jot those thoughts down for later. Then when your meeting with God is finished, you will be all organized for the day!!
3. Look up these scriptures and write in your journal what you think God might be trying to get across to you. If you have questions about these scriptures, you can write your questions in your journal. I can guarantee you that if you ask God a question, it will be answered before the week is out!! (And eventually before the day is out…..or your prayer time is out!!)
I John 5: 14-15
Luke 18: 27
Psalms 119: 130
Romans 15: 13
Luke 1:37
Prayer:
Father, thank You for meeting with me today. Open my eyes so that I can see the “good plan” you have for my life. Open my spiritual ears so that I can hear what You are saying to me. I need Your direction so that I can get from where I am to where You want me to be. Thank You, Father. Amen.
