Day 8         It’s Time For A Change
Jeremiah 18: 1-5  New International Version
1 This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD : 2 "Go down to the potter's house, and there I will give you my message." 3 So I went down to the potter's house, and I saw him working at the wheel. 4 But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him.
5 Then the word of the LORD came to me: 6 "O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter does?" declares the LORD. "Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, O house of Israel.
When we go to God in desperation for our present circumstances to change,  He usually takes a good long look at us and says, “Okay, I'm on it, but there are some changes I want to make in you too!"
Who me??  Wait just a minute!!  I am the way I am.   I like what I like.  I know what I know.  It’s just the way I am.
God fully intends to change your circumstances because He is a good Father.  No good parent wants his child to suffer in difficult circumstances.  However, when you take a trip, (like we are doing!), it is not a straight and immediate shot to your destination.  There are twists and turns along the way.  One thing we know is that God is working in and through all the “twists and turns.”  If we keep following God’s GPS, we will arrive at our destination.
As you continue having your daily meetings with God, you will find yourself growing and changing.  That’s a good thing!  That’s what He wants for you.  Don’t think He’s not working on those “circumstances” that you brought to Him, because He is, but He also wants to work on you.
It is good to start each daily time with Him by saying, “Not my will, but Yours be done.”  That gets ourselves out of the way so He can show us His ways.  It is also  good to say, “Teach me Your ways.”  I can promise you that if you ask, He will!!
Today’s Assignment:
1.      Go to your meeting place at your meeting time and begin by saying, “I want Your will in every part of my life—not my will, but Yours, O God.”

2.      Look up the following scriptures and spend some time thanking Him for His goodness towards you:

James 1: 17
Romans 8: 28
2 Corinthians 2: 14

3.      God is at work in our circumstances and in us at the same time.  Encourage yourself with the following scripture:

Philippians 2: 13

(Note: Read it also in the Amplified Bible.  If you do not have one you can access it online at http://www.biblegateway.com/.)

4.      Spend some time, letting God look at your priorities, responsibilities and your schedule.  Ask Him to remove anything that may have been right at one time but is not right for now.

Some things we are to do, some things we are to delegate and some things we are to delete. God will show you which to do in each situation.  At this time you are making your time with God a priority and all other things are after that.
Prayer:
Father, I am ready for a change and I am ready to change, but I need Your help.  Please walk with me and talk with me all day today so I know what to do, what to delegate and what to delete.   Thank You for Your faithfulness to me.  Amen.
